This backyard in Lowell needed a full reset. Low spots, uneven ground, and areas that just weren't draining the way they should - it's the kind of yard problem that gets worse every season if you don't address it at the root.
We brought in 60 yards of dirt to rework the entire area. That's a significant amount of material, and getting it placed and graded correctly takes more than just pushing dirt around. We worked through the rough grade first - building up the low areas and establishing the overall slope and shape we needed across the space.
Where the fill went in deep, we compacted it. That step matters more than most people realize. Skip compaction and you're setting yourself up for settling problems down the road - soft spots, sinkholes, uneven surfaces that undo all the work you just paid for. We don't cut that corner.
Once the rough grade was dialed in, we finished it out smooth and even across the yard and around the structure. The goal with finish grading is to get a clean, consistent surface that's ready for whatever comes next - whether that's seeding, landscaping, or just having a backyard you can actually use.
If your yard has low spots that hold water, areas that never seem to drain right, or ground that's just plain uneven, rough grading and finish grading is usually the fix. We handle the dirt delivery too, so you're not coordinating multiple contractors to get it done.
