Limestone walls look great when they're new. But over time, they shift, crack, and start to fall apart - especially when they're holding back a raised bed. That's exactly what we were dealing with here in Crown Point, Indiana. The old wall had run its course, and it was time to pull it out and do it right.
We demo'd the failing limestone and brought in natural boulders to rebuild the border from scratch. Boulders are a different animal compared to cut limestone - they're heavy, they lock together naturally, and they don't rely on perfect stacking to stay put. The rounded edges give the bed a softer, more organic look while still doing serious structural work.
While we had the bed torn apart, we also cleaned up the planting layout and refreshed the mulch throughout. The finished bed sits tight against the house and wraps cleanly around the corner. Sharp edges, no gaps, nothing leaning.
What you end up with is a landscape bed that's going to hold its shape for years - not something you're going to be calling us back to fix every season. That's the whole point. Good materials and solid installation work means less headache down the road for the homeowner.
This is the kind of landscape installation work we do all the time across Crown Point and the surrounding area. Whether it's a full bed rebuild like this one or something smaller, the approach is always the same - built to last, built to look good.
