Sometimes all a yard needs is a fresh layer of mulch. No major overhaul. No big construction. Just clean, dark mulch laid out properly across the beds - and the whole property looks pulled together. That's exactly what we did at this Cedar Lake home.
This property had a lot going on. Mature evergreens, a natural stone pathway winding through the side yard, established shrubs and perennials, and planting beds wrapping around multiple sides of the house. Good bones all around. What it needed was that finishing layer to tie everything together and make it look intentional again.
We worked through every bed on the property - front, side, and back. The fresh mulch makes the stone borders pop, frames the plantings cleanly, and gives the whole yard that sharp, well-kept look. It also does a real job under the surface, holding moisture and cutting down on weeds. Two wins in one.
One thing we pay close attention to on mulch jobs is depth and consistency. Too thin and it doesn't do much. Too thick piled against plant stems or tree trunks and you're actually causing problems. Getting it right matters, and it's something we take seriously on every landscape maintenance job we do.
Fresh mulch is one of the simplest upgrades you can make to your property. The difference it makes - front to back - is hard to overstate. If your beds are looking tired or patchy, this is the reset they need.
